Aubrey is an analytical thinker who specializes in digging into complex, multi-faceted subjects and quickly synthesizing them into clear, concise, compelling narratives. At Red Propeller, Aubrey heads up research for and writing of our market audits, which deeply analyze everything to do with planned developments and then provide recommendations on target audience, unit mix, amenities, design and more. He also lends his writing skills to other marketing efforts.

Aubrey came to Red Propeller after two decades in journalism, most notably as the real estate reporter for The Seattle Post-Intelligencer; and as real estate, aerospace and tech reporter, and an online producer at seattlepi.com, which survived the paper as an online-only news operation. At the P-I and seattlepi.com, he chronicled the real estate boom of the mid- to late 2000s, the subsequent bust and the market’s reemergence in the 2010s.

Prior to joining the staff of the P-I, Aubrey worked at The Bellingham Herald, where he most recently covered growth and development, after previously reporting on city and county government, courts, neighborhoods and more. He started his career at The Providence-Journal Bulletin, where he covered all news in the town of Coventry, R.I.

Between his time in journalism and joining Red Propeller, Aubrey briefly was a staff writer for the personal finance startup NerdWallet, where he wrote mostly about insurance, and then communications officer for the Stockholm Environment Institute.
