Alison founded Red Propeller in 2008. She has more than 20 years of real estate development, marketing, leasing and sales experience. Her expertise ranges from real estate project programming and design leadership to marketing and sales strategy development and implementation.
At Red Propeller, Alison splits her time between resort destination property marketing, and sales and urban pre-development consulting. In her consulting role, Alison works to help developers understand the environment a project will be entering, identify target audiences, and develop project programs and solutions that differentiate developments in their unique markets. Alison has worked on thousands of units of housing (for-sale and for-rent), mixed-use, commercial office and retail projects, and large-scale neighborhood developments.

Prior to creating Red Propeller, Alison worked for Playground Destination Properties, Inc. (then a subsidiary of Intrawest). With Playground, Alison led the marketing and sales for Urban Playground, the urban project division of this global organization. A project of focus was Museum Tower, a luxury, high-rise development in Dallas. Under her leadership, the first home release in late 2007/early 2008 resulted in $40 million in sales.
Prior to joining Playground, Alison led the residential marketing, sales and lease-up efforts for Paul Allen’s Vulcan Real Estate. In this role, Alison was the team leader for communicating the vision for the emerging South Lake Union neighborhood of Seattle, crafting an 11,000-square-foot Discovery Center, initiating an intense media relations campaign, and organizing neighborhood events and promotions. At this time, the neighborhood was not well-understood, and consumers and businesses did not yet place value on South Lake Union as a location.

At the same time, she led all South Lake Union residential marketing, leasing and sales efforts for approximately 1,200 units of housing in seven separate projects. Alison was a key member of the pre-development team, working to identify target markets, define building character, develop project programs and create a building story. She was also responsible for naming, branding and marketing strategy development, and the management and implementation of the leasing launch for these multi-family projects. In addition, Alison worked with the commercial office and retail team to develop and deliver tenant pitches, marketing materials and commercial leasing events. Alison was also responsible for the sales and marketing efforts of a large scale, mixed-use development, 2200 Westlake, overseeing the brokerage hired to sell the condominiums, directing the marketing efforts through vendor partners, and then acting as the owner’s representative and coordinator with the sales team for the closing and move-in process for all units.

Prior to joining Vulcan, Alison was the Director of Marketing for Harbor Properties, a Seattle-based development company. She was responsible for target market definition, project program development, and marketing and leasing strategy development and implementation for Harbor’s mixed-use and residential projects. As the Marketing Director, Alison was the point person for all project launches, overseeing lease-ups and leasing teams. In addition, she was engaged in the resort company, working on marketing strategies for three ski resorts.

Alison’s efforts have been recognized with several national marketing awards. She also had the distinction of leading marketing and sales efforts for two ULI Award of Excellence projects.
